Dona Nobis Pacem

Spent most, but not all, of the evening working on this little watercolour and ink piece in my sketch book, working over a little doodle that I originally did several months ago, based on illustrations in an old library book about early European Christian architecture, hence my choice of title for the image.  It's been a while since I spent any time working in my sketch book and it was very satisfying.  Unfinished, mostly because I ran out of steam and reason. After two really warm sunny days, today was cold and grey and several downpours this evening were instrumental in my choosing to work in my sketch book when plans to go out were cancelled due to apathy at the thought of getting soaked.
