Polson's Dam - Mute Swans

A brief and bitterly cold walk with Polly the whippet. Beautiful light this evening, as I watched these two gracefully swimming for a short time. (The second swan is in the rear of this shot, close to the bank)

I had no idea until recently that mute swans are monogamous creatures, these two were separated for a while when the male picked up an injury. He was captured and nursed back to health by the RSPCA, spending some time in another location while he recovered. Someone foolishly made an attempt to introduce another male in his absence, but she was having none of it!!! Nice to see they are reunited. :-)
