First Day Of Spring!

First day of meteorological, not astronomical, spring today - and winter has arrived!

We got up at stupid o'clock this morning to be on the road to Manchester airport. We left home at 04:30 and arrived just before 06:00. There was some settling snow on the M62 over Rishworth Moor. I dropped off the travellers - Mrs madwill, our daughter and her husband and our granddaughter. They are off to Las Vegas and Los Angeles for a couple of weeks. I turned round and  headed straight back - and there was some serious snow drifts in lane 3 on the M62 so of course everything slowed - however journey time home was not too bad and I got in at 07:30.

The snow came down really heavily and the photo is the view from our patio door!

Eventually it stopped and we ventured out for a walk - Finlay and our two house guests, Pringle and Fudge. They were pretty well behaved - until we met a Great Dane with attitude. The owner had to tie it to the fence to control it - otherwise it would have pulled her along. Sadly it set our three off - but I managed to keep them moving past the baying hound!

I grabbed a couple of hours sleep this afternoon and have been tracking the flight to Dallas that the travellers are on. Currently over Hudson bay!
