Crossing
We had a nice long walk this morning. The tide was low enough for us to access the steep stairs at the far end of the beach. Normally they just end in the water and provide a way for surfers to get to the waves. With the tide out, pedestrians can stroll the rocky base of the cliffs and then huff and puff up the stairs to the path that leads back to the wharf. I'm always thrilled at this little gift from nature; it seems special and impossible to refuse. On the way we spotted a lost baby seal who had somehow gotten high and dry on top of the big pile of rocks--a little fella, all skin and bones. Called Animal Rescue and trust that they will come down and help.Add in a little gardening and a couple hours of doodling and there you have it, my extra day.
