Goldfinch Takes "The Spot"

Remember the little Bushtit that was curled up sleeping at my window?  See here: https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2149754919513489626  Well, this little goldfinch came in and chased him away and took over the protected perch this morning. This little guy is not much bigger than the tiny Bushtit and just as cute.  There were several Bushtits and two goldfinches who jockeyed for the best positions on this bush while avoiding the rain storms today. You can see that the window has a few rain drops from a flurry of wind and rain earlier. I am enjoying these littlest of birds almost as much as those largest of birds who are building the nest nearby. I can see how full retirement will  be quite enjoyable with all of nature  to entertain me.

I want to get my taxes done early this year, so I am setting an artificial deadline of March 15th for them to get done; so if I get a little testy in the next couple of weeks, you will know why.  :-)) Hopefully, I will be able to keep motivated to this goal.

Thanks for visiting and for your great comments about the Bald Eagle yesterday. I really appreciated the hearts and stars that put it on the third page of Popular. I tend to get way too excited when you like my photos, but it is so encouraging and gives me a desire to improve my subjects and skills.

I hope everyone enjoyed the extra day we received this year; I appreciated these extra 24 hours to finish up editing my photos.
