Mono Monday - Spice man

"A pound's worth of bay leaves please. While you're at it, £1 of star anise too". A bit of shopping at the market in Bradford.
I've never used star anise but LeggeAngie suggested adding one to a beef stew. I was making chicken but thought I'd try it. It's subtle but an interesting, tasty addition.
