Venosa Violacea

Anyone who subscribes and sees my blips frequently will no doubt have realised by now that I have lots of Clematis! Some of course are special favourites - and Venosa Violacea is one of them. Each year I always look forward with anticipation to it blooming. Compared to some of the more flamboyant, showy Clematis this one is more refined - each bloom no more than about 2 and 1/2 inches across., but it's always amass with them. Today the sky has been a consistent blanket of grey and it's hardly stopped raining, but with the addition of raindrops this particular Clematis looks even more lovely than usual. I had to blip it ..... I love its colours, the veining and its delicacy ....
