'n boer maak 'n plan (a farmer makes a plan)

For over a decade my aunt has wanted to hunt down the Little Karoo farm where she spent  two years of her childhood. A twelve-hour round trip later, the box is ticked! "Groot Geluk" farm is not far from Barandas railway station, which is a ten minute drive north of Uniondale. A kind neighbour (Oom Koen Barnard, in the picture) remembered my father and his family from their time there in the fifties, and went to great lengths to make sure we saw the farm itself (also in the picture). Our time with this delightful gentleman and his wife was the highlight of the day.
