I'm here!
She's been a busy girl today! The kid is fierce when she's on a mission. She finished her book when she woke up, whilst eating breakfast in bed, then did a piece of writing for school. We rushed to school as we were a little late.
"Professor Brainstorm" came into school for the start of STEM week. Katie said it wasn't as good as last year but she was pleased because he talked about Mars and she had said she wanted to talk about space. In class they were talking about what they're good at and she said "I was telling henry about my music but then I remembered I wanted to talk about ballet when I had to tell the class too. Henry told me that he is good at pushing his brother down the stairs. And some swimming". They did PE outside today because of the Professor Brainstorm KS2 session. She liked it til she got hit in the face by a basketball. She has a bit of a shiner. Which I wouldn't mind so much if the school had said anything to me about it. But not a word was said.
Anyway... I picked her up. She did 4 pages of theory and some piano practise whilst she waited for her tea to be ready. Which she scoffed quickly before skipping to her music lesson. She played all her exam pieces and was very excited to show B a couple of bits she'd decided to work on just for funsies. She worked really hard in her lesson but was a bit sensitive to correction tonight. She took it very personally. Though we have made progress as she took it personally but continued on with the lesson, not had a meltdown. She's working so hard and wants to get it perfect, so she's quite hard on herself. It's tough to watch- B and I both reassured her that corrections are to help her be better, not because we are cross with her and that she shouldn't be cross with herself.
When we got home she snuggled straight into my bed with a story from me and then her own book. Fierce little miss on a mission.
