Cake Mk II

Yes this is the second birthday cake that my mother has had because she is 80. There's a funny story attached to this one in as much as for several weeks she has been on at me about the fact that we weren't having a party for her & therefore no special cake to mark the occasion. Well of course I couldn't tell her that there was one being made & & indeed there was going to be a party. Anyhow she was, what we would say in Bucks, occard  (a bit off or maybe awkward about it) & so she made her own !

This of course made us titter & so Carol offered to ice it & this is the result.

I wouldn't be surprised if another one didn't turn up !

I'm just sitting here with a glass of Red having spent the day rubbing down little bits of rough plaster plus all the woodwork (and there is alot) plus all the coving. Tomorrow I should be able to paint the ceiling, tho sis is in the country & so we might get a call to say they are visiting.

Its been a milder sunny day today & very dusty where I was !!

Update :

Sis is in the country & the flight was very late which means here bus connection is going to be late too. This means she will arrive in Oxford at 11pm. Mum just rang to ask if I could pick her up - alas I have had 2 glasses of Red ....................Taxi !!
