Migrant in Moscow

Mural

We've had a new mural go up in the neighbourhood.  Part of a series being done by artists in Moscow over the past couple of years.  I've blipped a couple of them:  Alice Pasquini on 26 November 2014 and Mikhail Bulgakov on 14 October 2014 (amazed to see it that far back).  I don't know (yet) who this latest mural depicts.

I walked by the mural during the evening and came across the artists standing out in the traffic to get a good visual of their work-in-progress (see the added blip).

PS UPDATE:  I found out that the mural depicts Kozma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky, defenders against the invasion of the Poles in the 17th century.  A competition was held by the Russian Military-Historical Society and 24 entries from artists in 6 regions of Russia adjudicated with the winner selected on the basis of historical accuracy and architectural fit.

More on Pozharsky.
