Deconstruction

Demolition underway down the road to remove an old structure and make way for a new retail/office lot. The lot has been sitting empty for months. I used to always admire the bushes lining the property as I ran by in the mornings. They would blossom all different shades of pink, salmon, magenta during the summer. About a week ago they chopped them all down so they could put up a fence around the site, in preparation for the new construction. They could have put the fence 3 meters in and saved the bushes, which in the end would have beautified the new space and saved them from having to plant new ones when the construction is complete. But I guess they don't think like that. Pity.
