New unit

Proud day as a new unit at Grantham hospital was opened by Chief Exec of NHS, so good for staff to have him come and talk to them about the role of a small hospital. Specialist centres are the way forward for specialist need but after care and routine care is and should be local as possible, especially frail elderly.

This was the vision of a task group I led of clinical staff to looks at a better model of care for people who need urgent tests/one etc but don't need to be in a ward. Clinicians and patients designing supported by managers abs experts :)
