Sutton Hoo

As it was sunny, but very cold, today I decided to go to the National Trust site at Sutton Hoo which is about twenty miles from where I live.   

The house pictured is called Tranmere House and was the home of Mrs Edith Pretty who in 1939 had a premonition that led to the discovery of the Anglo Saxon Burial Mounds and subsequent treasures.   The exhibition hall is fascinating to visit but unfortunately most of the 'treasures' are replicas, the originals are in the British Museum in London.
I love the big open blue skies with those fluffy white clouds.
