Goodbye Durham

We had a wonderful meal out with Luke last night - in the extra shots you can see the sign for The Cellar Door, where we ate supper. It was absolutely full, mostly parents and their student offspring dining there. One goes down about three flights of stairs and dines in a very atmospheric and cosy cellar.

This morning I ran on the treadmill at the gym, but Gavin ran outside and had sunshine, rain, sleet and a bit of snow during his run. It then cleared and was mostly sunny for the rest of the day. We met Luke for brunch at a very popular café, where Luke warned us that one has to queue to get a table. After queuing for 30 minutes we finally got a table and it was well worth it, the best coffee and the best eggs benedict I have ever eaten.

We went for a good long walk around Durham after our brunch, and then all too soon it was time for us to get our train back to London. This is the view of Durham from the station - unfortunately there is some scaffolding on the cathedral, but it is still a good view of the cathedral and University College (the castle). It was a wonderful weekend and we really enjoyed seeing Luke again.

Now we have just got home, where Murdoch was happy to see us.
