Marmalade Fly.

Planting wild flowers in the garden seems to have paid off. Today I was pleased to see a lot of identical hover flies which, I believe, have the common name of Marmalade Fly (Episyrphus balteatus).

Here it is drinking nectar and presumably it will go on to pollinate other flowers. The good news for gardeners is that it is rather partial to an aphid or two.
