Never mind Louis Van Gal; the big managerial casualty of this week was the manager of Cigs.

So I got my shooting schedule for the day - the photo above. The creative director wanted a busy street scene. Seeing as it's 6 Nations time of year, the areas around Murrayfield offer a multitude of options. The prospect of a Scottish clash with the Italians was just the thing, he said. And thus it was pencilled in.

It was as I got off to Haymarket and thought 'I've seen more Hearts fans than Italians' that I began to wonder. Had I got the kick off time wrong. Imagine if I had to wait until after the game and get everyone leaving; I'd need to find a quiet bar (!) and settle and watch the damn game. Still I could claim the beers on expenses, I suppose.

By the time I got with sight of the Roseburn Bar, google had told me the game was in fact in Rome.... Oh well, when in Roseburn.

So I had a pint, did the blip and phoned the board of directors and demanded heads must roll.

Wanted: Cigs Operations Manager. Must be able to tell who the home team is in a rugby fixture. Salary commensurate with experience. Apply within.

And I never once got to use the Headline Cigs Got Caught Red Handed cos the glove was blue.
