Homing in
My favourite bird is the swallow and from having three telegraph wires laden with them every year suddenly we are down to two pairs, which is a sad state of affairs.
However on going over to Gilbert's End to ostensibly oversee Number 1 daughter in stable painting and also to photograph a very young foal, I was completely enthralled by this nest full of nearly 'ready to go' youngsters.
The pony family decided to squash in with me while setting up the camera and I discovered 2 things: 1 - that I am a person easily diverted from an original mission and 2 - that it's tricky getting the 'right' shot of a nest full of baby swallows with a little foal blowing up your nose!
