Blue Theme

Some of you will have guessed by now that a theme is appearing in recent blips. Well, I make no apologies for blipping another slice of lovely blue sky as I have to make the most of it when its about!

This is the beach where I started running almost exactly 30 years ago. Mrs B and I had a touring caravan on the site above the beach. Son #1 was 18 months old and Mrs B was expecting son #2. With all the responsibility of fatherhood, I made a decision to get fit and take up running. My logic was that if I couldn't enjoy a run along the 1 mile of this beach and back again then running wasn't for me. I remember it was hard going and the legs were stiff afterwards, but I thoroughly enjoyed being out in the open, getting fresh air and exercise. By the end of our 2 week holiday I was running 4 or 5 miles and setting myself new challenges every few days. I often look back on that first run on the beach and how it changed my life in so many ways. Although the joints now ache, I will keep running as long as I can for the pleasure and benefits it brings.

Anyway, by the time I get to this part of the beach I like to stop for a blip and get my breath back. Blipping has forced me to stop for a breather, which is probably no bad thing.

A few friends from neighbouring houses are round for dinner tonight so its a somewhat earlier blue blip!
