Halfway Lake in Winter

Where I prove that even on a 60-degree day, it's not difficult at all to find ice and snow on a late February afternoon in central Pennsylvania.
This is a very popular swimming hole (aka: beach) for the locals here in Summer. I remember well what a treat it was as a child to come and spend the day here, picnicking and playing on the beach with family and friends. We used to call it Halfway Dam.
It was originally called "Halfway" because, back in the day, a tavern and barn were located there, where Teamsters could stop and feed their horses, and even spend the night if they so desired...about halfway through the mountains of the Buffalo Valley; but the beach and surrounding area is now more commonly known by its proper name... Raymond B. Winter State Park.
Of special note in this photo - the nearly full moon rising just above the treetops.
