Eighty - well almost
It was Mum's surprise 80th party today & it went off without a hitch.
Her friend Barbara had arranged to take her to Burford in the Cotswolds for lunch today and so at 10.30 we had a call from Brenda, her village friend pictured in the thumbnail letting us know that Mum had "left the Village".
I was out 1st thing buying bread so we could make the egg sandwiches. We had cooked 2 dozen eggs and C did the making & cutting up etc
We arrived at the appointed time and were amazed to see a mountain of food....Mum arrived at about 3.30 - when Barbara persuaded her to take a look in the hall. Lots of tears laughter & shock. Fifty plus friends were waiting for her & I was hiding behind the door !
It was a lovely afternoon tea & mum was really touched by the effort that everyone in the village had put in - just for her...
Now here is a little test: at Mums party there was a Countess (married to the Earl of Buckinghamshire) & there was also a former member of the Top of the Pops dance troupe Pan's People (only old folk will remember them) Can you pick them out of the line up of some of the friends in the collage ? Ten points for each correct answer...
I like the extra too ....
