There really is no possible justification for then possession or threatened use of weapons of mass destruction. The proposed renewal of the UK's nuclear Trident submarines is not only a ludicrous waste of money but sends an entirely unhelpful signal to the rest of the world.

The pathetic clinging on to an unusable status symbol by the Tories and others would be laughable if it were not so immoral.
