Lost pubs of Kent
The Beehive Inn opened in about 1850 to sell beer from the local brewery in the hamlet of Modest Corner on Southborough Common. The brewery closed in 1895 but the pub continued until the mid 1980s after John and Eileen Rabbit who ran the pub for 30 years finally retired . The new publican attracted a very rowdy clientele , the neighbours complained and the licence was revoked . The building became a private house.
I was cutting down trees again just round the corner. I have been trying to blip this building for ages but there has always been a car in the drive. But not today and the sky is blue - perfect
