St Johns in the Vale

One more Wainwright bagged today in the form of High Rigg.  It was a shortish walk but with fabulous views to Blencathra and Skiddaw (as in this picture) and behind back to Thirlmere.

We were shocked by the amount of damage left behind by storm Desmond in December.   Many of the paths are seriously eroded and we passed two damaged bridges.   There are piles of rubble deposited in the middle of fields.
