Remaking Rothesay

I was on Bute today for a surgery.  

There has been a charrette going on for the last few days under the title "Remaking Rothesay" and one of the things people have been doing is tying green balloons to things they like in the town centre, and red ones to things they don't.  

The centre of the activity was the Winter Gardens, seen here,  which also got a green balloon from someone.   

I think the energy and initiative of those involved in making this happen is great - it has come from the community which wants to see improvements happen and is determined to see them driven by the community itself.   Kevin McKenna had a good feature piece about what is happening in The Herald a couple of weeks ago
