People at Work #8 : : Dawn

After languishing at home for far too long, I decided to take myself off for an Aztek Mocha and some retail therapy. My favorite clothing store is a place called Tamarind in The Barlow in Sebastopol, a development of repurposed apple packing sheds housing, upscale shops, restaurants and a Community Market.

I was right in assuming that the owner of Tamarind would be in New York checking out the new fashions for spring, but she left her carefully curated shop full of beautiful, sometimes edgy, clothes in the capable hands of her friend Dawn. I spent a pleasant time trying on clothes and talking to Dawn about this and that. I was sorry to hear that she will be leaving Tamarind for a 'real' job as spa manager at the Callistoga Ranch Resort in the Napa Valley, however, it is as as good an excuse as any  to check out the facilities and have a little pampering…If one must catch a weird and hitherto unheard of ailment, might as well work it for all it's worth.
