Snapshots of rural France

Here's looking at you...

...kid!

Took a day off to be somewhere different and ended up in Blaye on the north side of the Gironde estuary. It's a very pretty small town in the Blaye Bordeaux vineyards.

It was also the landing point for the two last surviving cockleshell heroes (WW2) who then started their 100 mile walk to Ruffec. There is more info here and further photos of the area on extras.

We also found a nice wine plant (amongst the thousands!) and Mr B decided on a couple of bottles to take home.
