"Towered over the world like a Colossus"

It's an awful statue. It looks nothing at all like him. The locals generously say that they got the muscles right. I don't agree.

It's supposed to be Cristiano Ronaldo. The very best footballer in the world. And from San Antonio, Funchal. Local boy made good.

When he went to the mainland, they laughed at his accent. He just trained harder and showed what a leader he was on the pitch. They caught him doing extra training in the gym in the middle of the night. He's obsessed, brilliant, arrogant, driven..... He's done so much for the island.

I've been to his museum, CR7. It's great. Even I couldn't believe how many signed footballs for hat-tricks he's scored in the Champions League were lined up in the display case.

He can come and play for Forest any time. Fawaz could afford him, but unfortunately we have fallen foul of "Financial Fair Play"
