2016 Thursday -- Epic Date

We celebrate this day most every year. Fifty-one years ago on this date, I rode the school bus to my high school and when it arrived at the campus, I just stepped off and walked the two streets to Mr. Fun's apartment.

He was a freshman in college and I was a high school sophomore. The direction of our lives changed completely that day. Three months later, the two of us were getting married. He was 19 and I was 15.

Even though what we did that day was enormously wrong and irresponsible, today we're thrilled that it gave us a lifetime together. We are also thrilled that 10 years later God's awesome mercy redeemed our lives and changed our story in a way that no one who knew us would have ever predicted.

P.S. I've been sick and without a voice for 11 days. Today I went to the doctor. I now have three separate medications. I'm hoping to regain a voice real soon.
