Dear Deer

This sweet carved deer is by Cragg Vale Park. Lana and Alicia pass it everyday on their way to school.
On the way home from school Lana was telling us about her wild cat study and how in Medieval times there would have been wild boar, wolves, and stags everywhere in the area.
Changed times, today the area is famous for sheep and cycling.
Perhaps this deer carving is there as a reminder that the community area was once a Deer Park.
