Ford Abbey, Dorset

Mrs M and I paid a visit to Ford Abbey today which was  built over 900 years ago by Cistercian monks. At this time of year the house is closed but today being mid week, we had the gardens to ourselves except for one other couple The snow drops are nearly over  and the crocus are already appearing and we walked around in wonderful sunshine.
On our way home we stopped for lunch at the Tytherleigh  Arms
