LONE TREE IN THE FIELD
just outside Derental.
The morning started well, so light and fresh.
I worked in the garden, with joy, although I had to cut away long blackberry offshoots.
After lunch we drove to Derental and parked the car on the road to Fürstenberg. From there we followed a path and hoped to find some wells (Quelle on the map). We found one near the path, but it was unsightly, a tree had fallen over it. And it certainly was not a holy one.
There were a lot of wells, but unfortunately they were too far away to reach these on foot.
Next time we will drive nearer and try to discover them.
We enjoyed our walk enormously, the path went first along the forest, then through a thick fir wood, and then we came at a point that we recognized from an earlier walk. There was a barn and a fenced deer park. The deer fled away when we came near. I do know why!
Our path back went through enormous fields, the sun shone upon our faces, and the wind blew there rather strongly.
My haiku:
A tree must be strong
Strong enough to endure all
Seasons and survive
And the proverb:
One scone of a baking is enough.
