Ben Lomond
The gale force winds and rain has stopped and today it's been unusually quiet, like a dreich February day with overcast skies. Except this is mid-July and it's supposed to be summer.
So getting a blip pic today proved a challenge. Fortunately a stroll up the road at sunset revealed Ben Lomond shimmering in the distance.
Ben Lomond (Scottish Gaelic: Beinn Laomainn, 'Beacon Mountain'), stands at 974 metres (3,196 ft.), and is a distinctive mountain in the Scottish Highlands.
Situated on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond, it is the most southerly of the Munros.
It lies within the Ben Lomond National Memorial Park and the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, property of the National Trust for Scotland.
One day, before I am too old, I promise myself that I will walk to the top. It is reckoned to be something of a "motorway".
