Fault on the Line

......will be resolved, typed the assistant on the Chat line from our telephone provider. A technician will ring your mobile tomorrow...

This was almost an hour after I had decided to report the fault online.
Had I plugged it in? Did all the handsets match? Is the telephone line firmly in its socket?

I know they have to check all these things, but we are still waiting for the technician's call, supposedly booked for 8-10 am this morning!

Yawn!!!
