The gold stuff
I took a walk to our maize this evening. It's the most a-maize-ing crop. Standing amongst it, it stood double my height, and it still has about 4 weeks left of growing to do.
The first photo is taken from the base of the maize, looking up the row. The second is a cob and while it looks very tasty, I can assure you its not as sweet to taste as normal sweet corn. But the cows won't mind though. The whole plant - leaf, stem and cob - will be chopped up, put in a silage pit, and covered, and will be eventually fed out to them as a supplement feed, during autumn/winter.
