MonoMonday: Ancestors

This is my mother's family, taken in the late 1920's in southern Finland: Grandmother Elina, mother Mirja, uncle Olavi and grandfather Manne. The grandparents lived just a stone's throw from our house, and I remember spending a lot of time at their house with my siblings. They have been gone a long time now. My grandmother died when I was 10, mother died when I was 17, grandfather a few years later, and uncle in 2003. Yet on most days they pop up in my thoughts and pay a visit.
