Still Life

I've been wanting to do one of these for the longest time! Today, as I was (unusually) at friends place in the afternoon, I noticed the afternoon light streaming through the dining room window lighting up a nearby lamp beautifully and I wanted to capture it just the way my eyes saw it. Getting closer to the window, I noticed these "fruits" (candles) and I thought, "Aha, chance for me to finally get a Still Life!" There was also a box of Kit Kat chocolates nearby and YES, I did help myself!!

So here we are... certainly not the best SL you will see but a real honest attempt at it.

Today has been different! G went into work and I went to help her, except she soon ran out of energy (chemo catching up) so back home a few hours later for a rest. Friend Diane who helped pack the kitchen said she would help unpack, so met up with her to do just that. She was BRILLIANT and we have got A LOT done today. The coffee table has even made it to the floor (it's been perched on boxes till now). I reckon some time next week, though with G getting a visit from long time friend, there is a definite date to aim for. The pressure is ON.

PS. Very thrilled to say that despite the very slow shutter speed, this was actually taken handheld! :))
