not great but no disaster

...busy day in Bournemouth today, where everybody was getting excited about the Olympic Torch arriving tomorrow evening. We will already have seen it by then... probably... possibly... as it will be passing our house in Swanage at lunch time... in the rain. Talking of which, the bright weather came to end this morning and the rain is back with us.

This evening, I went to check on our nightjar (alone, because, for some reason, L didn't fancy another soaking!) and was pleased to see the poor thing hunkered down on her eggs in the cool and pouring rain. I was just about to leave when a couple in bright red jackets and umbrellas spooked her so, against all hope, I shot a few frames with my macro lens wide-open in the wet and appaling light. This was the best image and, while it is not perfect, it is at least recognisable...
