Skimming swallows
Last week we stayed at a gorgeous retreat in Northern Sicily. In the heat of the day groups of swallows would swoop down over the swimming pool, either to splash into the water, or (the more agile ones ) skim the surface grabbing a quick drink. It all happended in the blink of an eye- so I used the highest shutter speed possible- pre-focussed and hoped for a bit of luck! Out of 50 shots--I got about 4 good ones. For the geeks : Exposure 1/8000 sec Aperture f/3.2 Focal Length 85 mm ISO Speed 640
