Family Bible

The wind has dropped, it's stopped raining and by 3.30pm there was the hint of sunshine! I have been working like mad all day in the garden. First stop the polytunnel, where one side is dug over and cleared. Next stop the main pond where tons of parrot weed was extracted, rather precariously. Third stop - more clearing massive brambles and ivy from another area. Fourth stop - large cup of tea and toast. Chirp has been very helpful throughout, warbling away at high volume just inches away.

MonoMonday challenge this week has the theme of Ancestors. I dived into the useful cupboard to extract the Family Bible - Himself's family. It is a mighty tome and weighs as much as a small child. It was given to one of his ancestors in 1866 James Blunden Clarke, for his work in the church. We don't write like that any more do we. This Bible has obviously had other uses too for some small ferns had been pressed within the  pages and forgotten about.

The extra is something from my ancestors - a bit more dilettante on my side of things. This is a very unPC clutch bag belonging to my rather unPC but very glamorous granny. I thought it was crocodile but now I'm inclined towards python. I read recently of a crocodile handbag fetching something astronomic and was momentarily hopeful!

And it's the last week of IHWM (international Holy Well Month) so if you haven't contributed yet (and even if you have) it's really time for a spot of exploration.

Thanks to MrsLinda for doing the business.

And just adding a link to my granny after KD's comment - she was spot on!
