Great Crested Newt
This morning I finished the experimental four colour etched lino print "Great Crested Newt". I've learnt quite a lot through this experiment in lino printing without lino cutting. I found that its difficult to control the caustic soda especially when you re-etch for a second or third colour and, perhaps obviously, that, ambient temperature seems to make a significant difference to the etching time required. I think the secret next time is to keep it simple and only etch once, so mainly for background textures. I have in mind a new design based on trilobites where this might work.
