Serra D'Agua Valley
On a beautiful sunny morning, there is nothing better than a dramatic and beautiful levada walk. The Levada do Norte runs for 65 km and today I did 6km of the most wonderful.
We joined the path near Campanario and continued to the point above Ribera Brava. Few companies do this section but it is magnificent.
Passing alongside terraces, some immaculately cultivated, others abandoned, you see the variety of plants. Today we were also blessed with butterflies and even an enormous spider. It is high up, and some of the sections are narrow. Paths were a little muddy and slippery but the main danger was to be distracted by the sheer beauty, particularly if you want a photo.
I totally recommend this walk and I've chosen a shot from above Ribera Brava, in which you can see some of the abandoned houses, the terraces, and the Atlantic Ocean.
