The Goats of Haddington
The coat of arms granted to the Royal Burgh of Haddington 1296 incorporated the goats but no one knows why. The goats represent prosperity- "there is no need for the good to eat grass when a succulent vine is available". No, I don't know either!
This sculpture was presented to the town by Tanberg Electronics in 1978. They no longer exist. They were a Norwegian company and the sculptor is Norwegian.
Nothing more I can say!
