Blackthorn blossom

Its so nice to see this Blackthorn blossom starting to flower in the garden so early.  Its been such a horrible wet day today.  Didn't stop raining until just before dark so took Misty and Chloe to my sunset bridge and they ran and ran and ran their legs off.  Misty was rounding Chloe up and Chloe was chasing after the tennis ball.  For a dog with such little legs Chloe can certainly cover some ground.

Took them with me to visit a friend in Carlisle earlier and she made a big fuss of them which they really enjoyed.

Going back to the blackthorn, a friend of mine who I used to go dog walking with in Oxfordshire had a saying about blackthorn which I cannot for the life of me remember, something about if it flowered early ...... and if it flowered late...... all to do with the weather of course.  Anybody know??
