Time out with family
This morning we planned on visiting Upfront Gallery for a wander and a cuppa. We turned up at 10am but found they didn't open until 10:30am. What to do with half an hour? Thankfully The Pot Place was just a quick drive down the road so we had a look around and a coffee before heading back to the gallery. I was very impressed with the cafe at the gallery, all their cakes use vegan margarine which meant there were some I could actually eat!
After lunch we took a drive over to Whitehaven. I haven't been there for about 16 years since my gran moved over to live by us. We drove in the way we always used to, passed her house and then down to the harbour for a walk in the bracing wind. I came across these huge chain links on our wander, they were at least as thick as my arm. There was then just time for a quick drink at Wetherspoons (as an excuse to use their loos to change for the evening) before heading on our way.
In the evening my Dad's cousin was hosting a party at Hunday Manor Hotel. A chance for all the generations to meet each other. It was a wonderful night, delicious food, lots and lots of new names and faces.
