Vanellus vanellus

Before going home for lunch after church I braved the wind and rain and took a quick walk round the loch. Not too many people around ... I wonder why? By the time I was half way round the rain stopped for a bit so I felt it was safe to take my camera out for a minute or two. If the lapwings are about I know exactly where to find them. Most flew off as I approached but this one stayed put just long enough for me to take his photograph!
