Thwarted

Yesterday I spotted a roadside verge smothered in wild scabious, so went back this morning to blip them, only to find they had been virtually destroyed by yesterday evening's storms. So I went on to a nearby village where I know there is a cottage that usually has a show of hollyhocks. Guess what! They weren't out yet!

But I found this view of typical Surrey farmland. I took a similar photo from the same spot a few years ago and it is on the opening page of our WI website.

Off tomorrow to Denman College, the WI college near Abingdon, for a three day watercolour course.
