New Venture

We are receiving our first Airbnb guest into our home in Barcelona today.  Our experiences in Rio and Edinburgh as Airbnb hosts have been sufficiently good to lead us to think that we could lever our investment in our Barcelona home a little more.   It's too big for just the two of us and we are still paying a large mortgage for the privilege of occupying it - in reality for a very few months per year.   So, a German radio journalist arrived today for four nights and we had the place looking welcoming as well as spick and span, even for these colder months.

Just our luck then that this week three of the four patio chairs' arms snapped through plastic fatigue and we had to go off to Bauhaus to get four replacements.   Fortunately, they all disappeared through the open roof of the 2CV for the trip home arriving an hour before our guest did.   He's a lovely man, by the way, who may well return with his wife.
