Looking up to Heaven...
A trip across the Fens today, and into Suffolk and Bury St Edmunds for a day wandering around the historic market town. No blue skies today though, instead a dull, flat light, grey skies and light rain...
A walk through the Abbey Gardens and Gatehouse (extra 1), once one of the richest and most powerful Benedictine monasteries in England, took us to the Theatre Royal for a tour of the only surviving Regency playhouse in Britain (extra 2). After a quick visit to the Greene King brewery shop, we headed to St Mary's Church, the burial site of Mary Tudor, sister of Henry VIII, and then on to the cathedral and its wonderful painted ceilings (main photo and extra 3).
A look around the market rounded off the day, and now I'm zonked! This evening's plans are to fall asleep in front of the tele!!
FODMAP Day 20 Note to self: when there's nothing on the menu that you can eat, a slice of Gluten Free Chocolate Indulgence Cake is an acceptable (though not very healthy!) lunch option!!
