Dad

Mum had her cataract operation today so I had to take her and Dad into the hospital and spend the next three hours with him until she was ready to come home. First we met up with the rest of the family and Mlle N [niece just arrived from Canada] for a carvery lunch and then I took him back to the flat for a while before heading off back to the hospital. Driving around in the car that they used to own prompted Dad to ask how many miles it had done. My replies were 44,001, then 44,005 and finally 44,008. To be fair, he did remember where Mum was.

Amazing how simple a cataract operation is these days. Seems to have gone well.
